My shoe collection – so far!

IMG_0599_Fotor

Recently I’ve been starting to expand my shoe collection with some classic sneakers and boots. Nowadays I’m starting to feel i have almost all the basic and essential sneakers that work really well with lots of different outfits.

I’m slowly working my way into collecting more… I blame it on the boyfriend for being into sneakers and now it’s rubbing off onto me!!!

IMG_0585 EDIT_Fotor

Over the last six months these were the babies that were on rotation in my wardrobe!

Different style heels and heights to help me look decent because I am kind of vertically challenged 😛 (5’1)!!

Also amazingly all these shoes are so comfortable and I could work/play in them all day. I won’t list each individual shoe, but I’ll definitely pick out my favourites!

IMG_0599 EDIT_Fotor

Heels: (Top row, far right) Lipstik Nano Black – They’re a very good height for heels that you could walk around in all day and not get sore and the thick, chunky sole helps to also distribute your weight across more of the foot also adding comfort. They also look very similar to Senso heels which I really wanted at the time, but couldn’t really justify purchasing for the large sum that they are. These still get people asking me where they’re from because they look so cute!

Boots: (Middle row, centre) Windsor Smith Eagar Black Leather Boots – Ultimate comfort that goes with so many outfits. Not much else to say but I love them!

Casual: (Bottom row, 2nd from right) Adidas Original Superstars Rita Ora-  My latest shoe purchase and also my current favourite, the Rita Ora Limited Edition Superstars are my whitest shoes and can so easily can dirty, but they look amazing with anything! Wear them with light colours or dark colours, they really go and look great with any combo. I originally wanted the Original black & white Superstars, but I came across these on sale with only my size left and I thought why not! Best decision yet!

So there you have my shoe collection and main rotations! If you want to know about any of my other shoes just let me know in the comments section! Any other casual/shoe sneaker recommendations?!

Back on it!

Quick little update on things that you might see from me soon : My twenty first birthday, many new shoes, clothes & yummy food! xo

Back to school | Australis AC contour kit

Back to school

So it’s been a little while since I’ve posted! (My own laziness) but I’m back with a back to school post, since this week is O-Week in Australia, which is Orientation week before uni starts again, and so this theme fits quite well!

So here is a look into what I would take along with me to uni in my oh-so-handy (not to mention cute) backpack which I dearly love!

Essentials

It’s either the laptop or the iPad, never both! iPad on days with just lectures, and laptop on days with tutorials and workshops! Planner / diary to keep a note of all due dates and other important things. I prefer this over electronically keeping track of things because you can make it really pretty.. hehe

Pencil case and notebook is essential because I learn better when I take notes by hand, because I am better at filtering out unnecessary things and only writing down the most crucial points! Unless everything is important.. *sigh*

All these things, along with lots of little snacks and drinks because I am always so hungry, and then I’m ready for the study life!

AC Contour Kit

Also whilst we are still on the topic of uni, I also picked up the Australis AC Contouring and Highlighter Kit which had been previously sold out during Christmas time and has only just been re-released. It was very appealing as it is a drugstore product that retails for only $16.95 AUD, and also has been known to be a comparable but much cheaper contour kit to the Anastasia Beverly Hills version.

Open Pallete

No mirror and instructions on the back are possibly the reason for the affordable and low cost palette, which is okay by me because I always prefer wall mirrors anyway! Also below, instructions on the back/bottom of the palette, which may be a little bit inconvenient for those trying to follow the instructions..

Here is my natural style of make up, with very slight contouring using the Australis AC kit! Using a light hand, and lots of blending it gives a nice natural look, perfect for school make up!

It is quite powdery and once you dip your brush in it does knock up a bit of residue, however when you apply the contour to your skin it is quite pigmented and so blending is crucial. I find the highlighters did not do very much for me as they were barely visible/pigmented compared to their contouring counterpart,  and so had me using another highlighter. I am content with this product and actually like it enough to consider incorporating it into my daily make-up routine.

For a minimal make-look perfect for going to school or just a lazy make-up kind of day, I would totally recommend this palette!

Queen Victoria Night Market in Melbourne

Headed off to the Queen Victoria Market Night Markets held every Wednesday during summer to grab some yummy bites! Was craving the Korean Potato Twister and decided to check out what new and exciting food they had this year!

POTATO CHIP

Yay! Got to eat the potato twister! Had the salt & vinegar flavour because that’s what the boyfriend chose.. but I think my tastebuds are growing more accustomed to that flavouring now 😛

Macaroons! Gigantic ones as well.. Pistachio, Lime & Chocolate, Rosewater and Creme Brulee.. Yummy!

IMG_2789

My most favourite dessert or treat ever.. CHURROS! These churros were so fresh, cheap and oh so delicious dipped in chocolate! Very happy that the churro truck is a regular trader during normal market days as well 🙂

IMG_2806

These wooden roses looked so beautiful, and yes they are each delicately handmade from very light, thin wood and made into this beautiful everlasting flower! *_*

Make up

Make up of the day was more of a dewy complexion with slightly smokey eyes & always red lips!

Since my post was full of small snacks and desserts, what are your favourite desserts and foods?! Hope to hear some responses about yummy food!

Ikea & OOTD

I decided to head to Ikea to pick up a new clothes rack and also a new shower mat.  Came across this body length mirror and decided I needed to take a mandatory “ootd” selfie, so I guess this has kind of become my first fashion post!

Mirror Selfie

Excuse the wrinkled shorts! They are such a fine material that I couldn’t even stop them from wrinkling whilst sitting in the car! *Cries*

There was so much inspiration for interior decorating and it made me want my own place so badly! *One day* Such cute and cosy room decor, something I’d like, if I ever move out into an apartment!

Trolley Shopping

Here is the completed rack! For only $20 and taking only 15 minutes to build, it was just too easy! I really needed something simple that would allow me to choose my outfits beforehand instead of rummaging through my wardrobe and creating a huge mess.. and this was it! So happy!

Nars Contour Blush Set

I’ve been eyeing this duo for a good while and have been thinking that maybe it’s about time I get it since I haven’t really bought myself any new make up in the last month! Hearing many good things about Nars for blushing and contouring makes me want to try it out for myself. Right now I’m happily using one of my bronzers for slight contouring and it’s served me well for the time being, however the idea of a highlighter and blusher together in a small convenient pack really excites me, because when I go out I do tend to touch up my face often.

Too Faced Lip Liner

The reviews on this lip liner say that they are the creamiest Too Faced liner and also it is really long lasting. It comes in a nice shade of pink/red which I find very appealing, and also being in mechanical form means that it will be much easier for on the go!

Nudestix Concealer Pencil

Creamy products are what I love most on my face and this pencil concealer is apparently just that. Never having had a pencil concealer before I would love to try it out and use it on perhaps smaller blemished areas instead of under eye.

These are the next essential make up items I am thinking of getting very soon! There will always be a need for concealers, liners and blush and so there is no problem with having multiple products for the same use! It just gives you more variety! Hehe!

If you’ve used any of these products let me know if they are any good or if there are any other similar items you’d recommend!

My Favourite Lipsticks

One thing that I cannot live without is lip colour, so I’ve decided to show everyone my favourite and most used lipsticks! Here are 7 of my current lipstick loves and as you’d be able to tell from the colouring, I am still on the lookout for the perfect nude colour lipsticks.

 Swatches Main

Swatches Name

Here’s a list from left to right: Rouge Coco Mademoiselle 05 by Chanel, Nice Knickers by Benefit, Racy Rata by Karen Murrell, Shade number 10 by The Face Shop, Russian Red by MAC, Volga by NARS & Dark Angel by Sportsgirl.

Chanel Mado

This is my current “nude” as I’m still trying to find nudes that suit my skin tone that won’t make me look sick or almost dead! As mentioned above I cannot live without colour, so of course this had to have a little touch of pink in it and I find that it’s a perfect amount! It is quite natural for my skin tone which I like when I’m at work or just don’t want my make up to be light. This is my first Chanel Lipstick and will definitely not be my last as the texture is creamy and very easily applied on the lips. This however does mean that the product will be used up more quickly but overall, my favourite natural colour.

Benefit

This Benefit lipstick is a nice pink colour, however it is too pink for my liking and so i quite like to blend it in with a more darker lipstick colour. I find that with all my darker lipsticks they are less moisturising and creamy, even though that is what they are apparently supposed to be. So this lipstick gives a nice glossy overcoat over the other colours that it gets mixed with.

Karen Murrell

Karen Murrell Lipstick is also used in the same way as the Benefit. It is a good shade to mix to create an in between colour which you can’t achieve from one lipstick alone! This lipstick is less creamy and due to that is quite average in terms of application on the lips.

Face ShopMac

Left: The Face Shop- Shade 10 and right: MAC- Russian Red are actually quite similar in colour and are both siren reds! I originally used the Russian Red more and it was fine, however I only just received The Face Shop lipstick and I find that it has very strong staying power and is also slightly more glossier, a look which I like. Out of the two I know my favourite would be The Face Shop, however both are amazing classic reds which every girl should have.

Nars

The Volga was a colour I had seen and fell in love with straight away, however it was sold out at the time and I had to wait a little while to get it. The colour is amazing of course, however I was disappointed in how it is not as moisturising as it claims to be. On the website, it says it contains “Wild mango butter” which is supposed to help reduce scaling and dryness. To be honest, it could be worse, however it is still not what it says it to be and that really annoys me. Aside from that, the colour is amazing and is one of my more favourite colours that looks great with my skin tone!

sportsgirl

Final and one of my most worn lipsticks is my cheap but always faithful Sportsgirl – Dark Angel. About two years ago I wore this colour almost always and it was the most flattering colour on my lips and It would be rude of me not to include it in my favourite lipsticks even if I rarely wear it anymore! For $10 this lipstick doesn’t have any fancy features, but it has a lovely rich dark crimson colour which I absolutely love!

So there goes! A run down of my favourite lipsticks! I hope you’ve gotten to know me a little bit more now and I’ll be showing more of my favourite products later on! If you have any questions or recommendations please let me know!
